Creative Planning is headed by Joe Salt, a dual-qualified architect and chartered town planner. Joe founded the company in 2023 following 21 years working in the industry for architectural practices and planning consultancies.

During his career he has gained extensive knowledge of the planning system as well as design and construction on both domestic and commercial schemes through an impressive array of projects of all sizes across a range of sectors.

Joe has a strong understanding of current local and national planning policy which provides the context to the built and natural environment. He has worked on numerous projects in areas of planning constraint such as the Green Belt, National Landscapes (formerly AONB), National Parks, Conservation Areas, and in the open countryside.

His unique skillset and experience enables him to interrogate and investigate the potential planning opportunities for each individual scheme, creating innovative and strategic solutions to maximise the potential of every project.
